Fell off Roof -- April 8, 2009

Yes, you did read that title right. It was time for us to redo the roof on our house. It's thirty years old and needs a major overhauling. So, my neighbor and I have been ripping the old metal off and putting down new plywood, paper and metal, along with a healthy dose of caulking along the seams. One morning I got up there, and then suddenly realized after I took a few steps, that I was standing on a thin layer of frost. Before I could make it back to the ladder, I slid off, ripped my pant leg and got a seven inch scratch on my right leg , next to my knee, which was caused by the top of a roof screw. Luckily, I only fell five feet, but landed on a mound of ice. on my side. The scratch was the only wound I got from the incident, and I had no bruising (surprisingly) from the fall. Needless to say, I'm not done with the roof yet. I'm halfway there, but at least I won't be doing the rest until mid May, when things should be a lot drier. Oh, and one other thing, I have a major fear of heights, so you can imagine what kind of an effect this little incident has had on my psyche.

Glad you weren't seriously hurt, Scot. I cannot wait to read the next book(s) in the snowtear wars series when behler takes it off hold.
Good day,
Steven

Steve, thanks. I am glad, too. It was frightening there for a moment!
