Why I don't Gamble -- February 3, 2009
My previous post is a huge indicator as to why I don't gamble. Accurately predicting the future, at least for me, is not in my blood. As you can see, I was wrong on the bulk of it, including the biggie -- who would win. But, hey, am I any worse than half those guys on the pregame shows? I congratulate the Steelers for their phenomenal comeback at the end of the game. The Cardinals almost had it. It was right there. If the Cards hadn't thrown that one interception at the end of the first half, and had scored a touchdown instead, the outcome would have been different. There was also a pathetic missed tackle by a Card while Harrison was returning the interception for his touchdown. Had that tackle been made, the touchdown wouldn't have made it to the scoreboard. Those were the two most glaring mistakes I saw. Gandy having three holding calls didn't help either. And I also think at least one of the personal foul penalties against the Cards shouldn't have been flagged. When the quarterback is scrambling around, it's hard not to pull up before he throws it. It was a fun game, though.
