Resolutions - January 14, 2009

I have made many new year's resolutions. Last I didn't write nearly as much as I wanted to, but still managed to finish The Snowtear Wars, which was nice. However, I still had that empty feeling inside, like I should've completed another project. This year, I vow to do much more, on top of all the editing I also have to do. As you can probably tell, I am very goal-oriented, and hate it when I can't do more. It's a little frustrating watching other authors churn out so many books, and I have trouble just getting one done in a year. Raising a family is a lo of work, and very time-consuming. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing I love more than my family, but it would be nice if I had more time to devote to writing. I think it's probably one of the biggest frustrations for any author. If we could just and write a complete book from beginning to end, without any iterruptions, it would be grand. The fastest I have written a book was my Christmas story, which I finished in two months. It's 200 pages long, but that's still my record. It took me 2 years to write Chimes, eight months to write Ice Shadows, nine months to write Hollows, eleven months to write Mirrors, and two years to write Book Five of The Snowtear Wars. Book Five took much longer because of my move from Colorado to Vermont.

No word will be coming for some time yet. The publisher has postponed some projects for now, which includes mine.
