Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Cash -- December 17, 2008 ![]() Here's yet another example of a poor manuscript that somehow made it to the silver screen. And even though bringing it to the screen did generate a lot of cash, it will still never be a DVD I'll purchase for my house. I love Spielberg's work, but was really surprised by this one. Everything from poor accents to ants moving men made this sequel laughable, in my eyes. I agreed with Stevem's approach of keeping the special effects down, however, the plot was predictable, ridiculous and boring. I loved he brought Marion back into it. I even accepted Indy having a kid, but Mutt almost putting the fedora on when a wind blows it at his feet was a bit much. And, okay, I get it that his lucky weapon is a knife and not a whip, after about the fifth reference. There were way too many problems with this installment to go over. I will just pretend it doesn't exist, and hope the new series with Mutt will be far better. In fact, they should've just skipped this movie to begin with and left Ford out of it altogether, and went straight on to the new series with Mutt. 2008-12-17 15:48:28 GMT
