Utahraptor - December 3rd, 2008 ![]() As many of you know, Michael Crichton passed away recently, a huge loss to the fantasy/sci-fi world. No one will ever forget Jurassic Park, a work of genius. When the movie originally came out, many said raptors were never as big as they were protrayed in the movies. They were only supposed to be the size of wolves. Well, they guesed wrong, and leave it Spielberg to dream up something that actually was true. After the first movie came out, the Utahraptor was discovered in--well--Utah, of course. It was the most lethal predator of its time and took on dinosaurs like the Gastonia, a formiddable tank, a dinosaur almost completely covered in huge plates and had a mace for a tail. Yeah, the Utah raptor was pretty tough, and smart enough to take down the hardest opponents. I hope Crichton's spirit can go back in time to learn all the answers he never did while he was writing his spectacular series. Kudos to you, Sir, for your imagination and dedication to the difficult art of storytelling.
