A five hundred year old crystal skull named Solar Ray (not pictured above) was recently stolen from Kindred Spirits, a new age shop in Claremont, CA. Is this really surpising considering all the new hype surrounding the new Indiana Jones movie that's coming out, titled, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"? Some thief got all excited over the hype, decided if he could get his hands on one he could probably sell it for a fortune since crystall skulls are believed to have healing powers. Lord knows there's enough suckers in the world willing to fall for buying one.

The skull above is actually one of eight ancient crystal skulls that have been uncovered in the world. There are five more reportedly still hidden somewhere in Central and South America, where the others have come from. The skulls were made by the Mayans, who predicted the current world will end on December 21, 2012. What will exactly happen on this date has been hotly debated. Some believe there will be a polar shift, which hasn't happened for 790,000 years (some say it is already shifting toward Russia). Others say we could be bombarded by asteroids, or be hit with massive earthquakes or volcanic eruptions, or all of the above. 

Believers in the skulls say, however, the disaster that will take place upon humanity can be diverted by the skulls when all thirteen are discovered and brought together, unleashing a huge vault of knowledge that can aid our world and possibly save us from the plights we currently suffer from (overpopluation, diseases, famine, wars, etc.). There are hunters out there currently looking for the other skulls. A skull like figure has even been reported to have been spotted in a lunar landing photograph. Is it a crystal skull? Most likely not. If the government knows, they won't say. The astronauts may or may not have brought it back. If they didn't, they certainly know about the the image now, not realizing at first it was there. They'll probably go looking for it if they ever return to the moon if they didn't take it.

The interesting thing is, how the skulls were made. They couldn't have been made with stone tools. Under microscope, the cuts show they could only have been made with modern tools, unless the Mayans had more knowledge about tools than we ever thought possible. So since they were made with advanced tools, and if they are as old as they are, could they be from an alien civilaztion that was passed on to us? Only God really knows. It sure will be interesting the theories that will take place as 2012 rolls around. This is the kind of legend that makes fantasy writers' minds go wild.
